Company Zarooq Motors in United Arab Emirates unveil its first car model.
Zarooq Sand Racer, able to legally travel on public roads, will debut on November 24 when Dubai will take the stage of Formula 1. On sale now, the Sand Racer starts at approximately $80,000 and it maxes out at roughly $160,000 when options — such as a more powerful engine — are factored in. The first deliveries are tentatively scheduled for early next year.
2,100-pound coupe is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that can be tuned to make anywhere between 300 and 500 horsepower.
To roll out the brand Zarooq (Zarooq - a sand snake, the fastest and hardy to live in the desert), in the UAE plan to build a sand ring road. There will be also taught how to maneuvre on the sand. By the way, the leaders of the project are people who come from the world of motorsport - is Mohammed Al Qadi, managing director of the track "Yas Marina", and the French racer Bruno Lafitte.
